GNOPS Constitution

The Greater New Orleans Pediatric Society (GNOPS) was created on January 11, 1955 by a small group of New Orleans pediatricians- Drs. J.D. Russ, Jim Treadway, Norman Robinson and Max Perret. These physicians first formed a group called Pediatric Education Group of New Orleans (PEGNO) whose main purpose was education for pediatricians after residency. After a year and a half, a group of physicians convened to form a new more formal and comprehensive group called the Greater New Orleans Pediatrics Society.

GNOPS Spring General Membership Meeting was a success!

Update on Current Management of Sports Related Concussions
Guest Speaker: Aaron Karlin, MD

The 2009 Spring General Membership Meeting at Andrea’s was fabulous! We had over 50 people join us for a delicious dinner and an interesting discussion of sports related concussions. Our speaker for the evening, Dr. Aaron Karlin from Ochsner Children’s Health Center in Covington, gave an update on the current management of sports related concussions and detailed the dangers of these injuries to young athletes. If you were unable to join us, please click here for more information about this topic. We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next meeting!
