Vikram Khoshoo, MD

KHOSHOO Dr. Vikram Khoshoo, affectionately known as "Dr. Vik", made New Orleans as his home since 1991. He was involved in a fatal accident in the early morning of March 2nd on the way to the Terrebonne General Medical Center where he worked as the Director of Pediatric Specialty Center for West Jefferson Medical Center. Dr. Vik leaves behind scores of friends, hundreds of patients and family members who were touched by his effluent nature, attention to detail, quick wit, and phenomenal humor. Dr. Vik not only treated the physical ailments of his patients but was vested in their overall well being. Dr. Vik was a pediatric GI specialist with MD and PHD degrees balancing both research and pragmatic patient approach. He published over one hundred research papers and even found time to complete his MBA from Tulane in 2009. His lifetime of hard work and compassion did not go unnoticed by his peers and patients. During the course of his career, Dr. Vik received many awards for excellence in patient care and was recognized for his humanitarian approach to medicine. Dr. Vik was actively involved in helping with volunteer efforts post Katrina and was an active member of the House of Blues. His infectious love of life was reflected as an amateur wine enthusiast and a low handicap golfer. He leaves behind his wife Dr. Monica Dhar and son Jay Khoshoo and a very large extended family, friends and patients who will miss him immensely. Relatives, friends of the family, colleagues and all those who loved Dr. Vik are invited to attend a Visitation from WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA, on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM.
