GNOPS Scholarship Fund Kick-Off In 2005, the Greater New Orleans Pediatric Society celebrated 50 years of making a difference in the lives of children in Greater New Orleans. We want to ensure this tradition continues with future generations in pediatrics. GNOPS has created a Scholarship Fund that will honor medical students and residents who have contributed significantly to pediatrics and who has the continued potential to practice pediatrics in the Greater New Orleans area. The Dr. Herbert Rotschild Award will acknowledge a medical student who has demonstrated excellence in pediatrics. One medical student from each Tulane and LSU will be chosen each year. The Treadway Pediatrics Resident Award will honor a resident member who has contributed significantly to pediatrics. To make a voluntary contribution to the GNOPS Scholarship Fund, GNOPS Update! We are excited to announce that the Greater New Orleans Pediatric Society (GNOPS) is back and ready to reconnect pediatricians from across the Greater New Orleans area. Based on your personal/practice situation as a result of Hurricane Katrina, GNOPS is offering to waive your 2006 dues payment. We will however, continue to offer quality educational programs throughout the year. Hurricane Katrina interrupted our 50th Annivesary Celebration. We do plan on rescheduling these events for the fall. Our leaders are determined to continue the tradition of making a difference in the live of children in Greater New Orleans. For additional information, please contact Janna Pecquet, GNOPS Executive Director, at 504-841-0145 or janna@gnops.org.
